Chris Simmons
Brighton based, heartfelt songsmith Chris Simmons spent his youth indulging in the musical greats Elvis
Costello, Turin Brakes, Scott Walker, Simon & Garfunkel and the calibre of such influences is certainly reflective in his songwriting elegant, mesmerising and haunting.
He has also took to the stage with some big names recently including Seth Lakeman, The Maccabees, Passenger, Suzanne Vega and Kate Nash to name but a few and played Glastonbury & Isle Of Wight Festival. Mentioning Squeeze as a definite influences, Simmons has found himself closely affiliated with Chris Difford with whom he’s both written and performed.
“You can’t also help but notice a McCartney influence in Simmons’ songwriting which is attracting collaborations with Chris Difford (Squeeze) amongst others. Seriously one to watch.” Music Week
