Mindofalion

With a unique sound that merges machine-like drums, filthy bass, lively, articulate vocals and reverb’d overdriven guitar, Mindofalion’s sound creates pictures for the listener, where you are coerced through each song’s journey by the messages in Archie Brewis-Lawes’ political and socially motivated lyrics.

The sounds and themes that the band create are very much influenced from the brothers’ travels to India from the early ages of 5 and 7 years old. From there the brothers witnessed the beauty and pain of a third world country struggling to get by. Recalling images of the beauty of nature crossed with the mass inequality and poverty surrounding them. Already experiencing a childhood full of music from their father’s career as a tour manager, Archie and Jack were running the merch stand for some bands form the age of 8. After witnessing this lifestyle on the road, the seeds of Mindofalion were there, ready to be given life.

The brothers moved to Brighton for its vibrant music scene and creative community, and 2015 saw them play festivals such as Leeds Festival, Together The People, The Great Escape, with the summer of 2016 looking even busier with slots at the Alternative Great Escape, 2000Trees, YNOT, Truck Festival and more confirmed. The band have quickly created a name for themselves along the south coast and will look further enhance their rep with the release of their debut EP, ‘Origin’ in late April 2016. From there only the future can tell where this band will go, and its exciting.
